The Animal Cruelty Enforcement Act of 2025 (H.R. 1477), also known as the ACE Act, is bipartisan federal legislation designed to strengthen how the United States investigates and prosecutes serious animal cruelty crimes.

While federal animal protection laws already exist, enforcement remains inconsistent and under-resourced. The ACE Act addresses that problem by creating a dedicated Animal Cruelty Crimes Section within the U.S. Department of Justice focused specifically on animal cruelty and animal fighting offenses.
